Aviation Nation

After waiting for Kelsie to get done with drama,
and Delaney to get done with basketball...
We finally got out of town.
The kids were excited to go swimming, but by
the time we got there the pools were closed.
So we were all excited to find out that
Terry had booked the suite that had
2 huge jetted tubs!
So the kids got to swim after all...
I think Delaney & Kelsie were more
excited than the little kids...
We had a litttle rodeo the next morning before
we headed out to
Aviation Nation!!
We parked at the speedway and waited
in line to board the shuttle to
Nellis Air Force Base.
It sure was interesting watching all
the people in line...
We met up with Kristin & Geoff & kiddos.
Here we are watching the show. The weather
was perfect, and it was a great day. We were
amazed with all the planes and what they can
do! We were again reminded of how wonderful
it is to live is this great country, and how
blessed we are to have such a strong military.
We are grateful for those serving our country
and for the sacrifices they make.
Our military ROCKS!
This was the Heritage Flight. It was
cool to see the P-51, F-86, F-4, and A-10!
Planes representing 4 different eras.
This is the HUGE cargo plane. It is
amazing! They showed how it could slow
down to only 85 mph - it looked like
it was going to fall right out of the sky.
Then there were the Patriots.
They performed awesome stunts with
different colored exhaust.
There were many more planes!
(They did a Korean War & Doolittle Raiders
reenactment, a MiF-17, Spitfire, Super Hornet
and Wings of Blue Parachute demonstration,
just to mention a few.)
It was really loud!
Teens at the air show...
Mason & Kennedie really wanted to go
inside the cockpit of this huge plane, so I waited
in line with them for almost an hour.
I got tired of waiting... Delaney (bless
her heart!) took my place and waited the
next hour and a half (!) with them.
Here's Mason finally going up the steps.
Kennedie in the cockpit.

Mason in the cockpit. Some of the controls.
Showing their mighty strength! Then finally - the finale:
The THUNDERBIRDS!
I can't believe how amazing they are!
They fly only feet apart going over a
thousand MPH. WOW!
It was an awesome show!
Okay, this was kinda silly.
Kristin wanted to take my picture with
some of the Thunderbird crew guys.
As we were all lined up for the pic, she
said, "okay, now say 'We love Kim!"
And the guy next to me (through his smile),
said,"Who's Jim?"
