Baby Delaney - 24 hrs old. She was the most beautiful newborn baby I had ever seen, and the most waited for... The first time I held her in my arms I whispered in her ear, "Where have you been? What took you so long?" This was the happiest day of my life - she truly filled the Grand Canyon in my soul. And to this day, she still brings me so much joy. I'm so glad that she's my girl, and for those who answered my many prayers and made it possible.
On her blessing day... we had to wait 6 months, until her adoption was finalized, to bless her and have her sealed to us in the temple.

One year old. Every time I had her picture taken, which was often, I was so excited that I bought the biggest package they had, so I have enough pictures of her as a baby to wallpaper several large houses... :)
This day she was throwing a HUGE fit, but as soon as it was time to smile - she did.
In between shots the photographer got this one of Delaney just playing in the sand at the creek, and it was my favorite.

I love this post. It almost made me cry! That picture of her in the sand is how I wall always remember her. There are a few kids who will always stay about 4 feet tall in my mind. My little brother is one of them. It is hard to see them get so big!! Happy belated birthday!!
