The Lion King

Every year the students in KHS music department are
able to go to a wonderful musical in Vegas. And they
allow other people to buy discounted tickets too.
(Which is really nice! Thanks Merilee!) Last year
we went to Phantom of the Opera, this year was
THE LION KING
This year Terry & I traveled down to Vegas together.
We dropped Mason off with Terry's parents in St George
on the way, Kelsie & Delaney rode the school bus. Kalin,
Kennedie & Kierra rode down with Jill.
So Terry & I got some time alone, which doesn't
happen very often. We have such a great time together-
which reminds us of why we fell in love in the first place.
We had a great date!
On the way down we passed the bus...
It got pulled over! You can see the cop talking to
the bus driver - I guess he was going a little too fast.
I think the kids thought that was pretty funny!
In Mesquite we met up with Kelsie.
This is her last music trip since she'll be graduating in May.
After the show, Xpress continued to California to perform at
Disneyland
She had a great time!
Our crew... My Mom, Kristin & Bailey, Melinda & her
family all got to go! We all had a great time!
Melinda, Kristin & I before the show.
A couple of goof-balls.
Delaney & Katy striking a pose.
The show was WONDERFUL!
The way they made the animals come alive on stage
was just amazing! They followed the movie pretty
closely, but ad-libbed some current comments.
It was cool to see how they adapted it to a stage, they
really made you feel like you were right there on
the African savannah. The voices were just like the characters
in the movie. The orchestra was great! I'm amazed by
the talent - the music, dancing, and acting was fabulous!
Especially the kids! Wow!
Scar
Scar & Mufasa
Simba & Nala

Everyone enjoyed the show, then
we drove home. We got home at 3:30 am,
and the bus got home at 4 am, which made
us all a little tired the next day, but it was
well worth it!!! The kids loved it!
Can't wait for next year!
