The Burr Trail - Again!

Terry & I were here last week - we loved this area so much we
brought the kids back on the last day of spring break to go
on a few hikes and check it out!
You can see forever from this viewpoint!
This is a kiva that you can see right from the road.
We were looking at this butte and wondered if there was a way to
get up on it. Then we spotted a ladder to climb up on top... scary!
Here's a close picture of the ladder.
West entrance to the Burr Trail.
Kierra & Kennedie found lots of "chairs" in the red rocks.
We hiked up in this little slot canyon.
Hiking buddies!
Kelsie the photographer!
You have to throw rocks into any body of water, right?
You do if you're a boy!
Kalin got the big pothole, Mason got the small one above.
We stopped and had a picnic not far from this sign.
This was a common sight...
Kelsie & Delaney trying to find a signal for their phones.
Too bad they didn't find one, hu? Darn.
We saw this arch from both sides,
but on the other side you're much lower,
so it's several hundred feet higher.
The Burr Trail switchbacks!
I don't know how they made a road through these rocks!
We went down them, then back up again to take a different way home-
Cottonwood Road to Skutumpah Road.
We hiked the Willis Creek Trail through some really
cool narrows! Mason gave it 2 thumbs (fungs) up!
Some amazing narrows!

Enjoying the time together.
Delaney & Kelsie heading out!

On Skutumpah Road we crossed Bull Valley Gorge - a very
narrow, deep gorge. The bridge is a single lane built from logs and
dirt layered on an old truck that fell and got lodged in the crack
years ago. You can see the truck if you are in the bottom
looking up - it's kind of freaky!
Almost home - deer in a field on Johnson Canyon road.
We had a great time!

Looks like tons of fun! Getting ready for the big daddy hike of them all?
